Desislava (Desi) Damyanova-Mushkova is a highly experienced clinician with over a decade of expertise in fetal medicine, obstetric ultrasound, and fertility care. She brings a warm, patient-focused approach and a strong academic background to her role at Spital Clinic, where she supports patients during some of the most meaningful stages of their lives.
Desi began her career with a BSc in Midwifery in Bulgaria, later expanding her skill set with a Diploma in Business Management and Administration. This multidisciplinary foundation has given her exceptional strengths in communication, leadership, and patient advocacy.
She completed a prestigious fellowship in Fetal Medicine at the Harris Birthright Centre, King’s College Hospital—one of the UK’s leading institutions for prenatal care. Her training includes advanced expertise in fetal cardiac assessment, particularly in the diagnosis and monitoring of congenital heart disease (CHD) across all trimesters.
Before joining Spital Clinic, Desi held a senior sonographer role at University College London Hospital (UCLH). There, she conducted complex prenatal scans and led teaching on UCLH’s Intermediate and Advanced Practical Courses in Obstetric Scanning and Fetal Medicine. Over two years, she mentored more than 25 Master’s students from the UCL MSc programme, highlighting her deep commitment to education and clinical excellence.
